| It isn't always easy to pack for a place in the world that is new. Before packing to go to Cancun there are some items that you do not want to forget.
1. Proper ID: With more airport security since 9/11 it simply makes sense to use a passport and photo ID. It is required that you have proper ID for any minors traveling under your care.
2. Birth Control: Well... If there is a chance you will be getting in the sack on your holidays you have got to bring contraceptives.
3. Appropriate Attire: Yes the tropics are hot and humid but if a sudden storm rolls in it can get rather brisk, very fast It is always wise to bring proper footware, slacks and a fall type jacket.
I believe it is much easier to pack lightly, You just don't know when you will have to lug your luggage for a distance. A few complete outfits will work for all social occasions.
4. Protection from the Sun: SPF 20 to start. Anything lessor and you have a lot higher chance of getting a sunburn. Good sunblock should also contain either zinc oxide or titanium oxide.
The month before you go on your trip it is a good idea to become a customer at a tanning studio. It is important to build a good base to withstand the intense sun as you get closer to the equator.
5. Health products: Of course you should bring any prescribed medicine but it may be wise to also bring things like Aspirin, Pepto Bismal and other toiletries.
Be sure to carry any medicine in the original pack and pack the doctors prescription with you also.
Having a more enjoyable vacation to the tropics can be determined by the items that you bring. If you forget an item that is important to your trip it can cause you to have less of a good time. If the item is critical to your health then it can be a threatening situation.
Make a list several weeks before hand of the items that you will need to bring with you. This way you will be able to remember all the little things that you might need while away. |
