| Confused about what to pack your gear for a place in the world that is new. While preparing to go for a holiday there are some stuff you had better remember.
1. Appropriate Identification: With stricter security since 9/11 it is essential to carry a passport and photo ID. Also be sure to have appropriate Identification for your children traveling with you.
2. Contraceptives: Well... If you think you will be getting lucky on your holidays you really should bring contraceptives.
3. Proper Attire: Yes the tropics are hot but if a sudden squal rolls in it can get very chilly, quickly Be sure to bring good footware, slacks and a light jacket.
I find it is smarter to pack light, You just don't know when you will have to lug your luggage. A few complete complete outfits will be sufficient.
4. Sun Block: SPF 30 at the minimum. If you use something less and you could get a sun burn. Higher quality sunblock must also contain either zinc oxide or titanium oxide.
Prior to leaving to somewhere hot it is wise to go to a tanning bed. A tanning bed will help build a base which help to stand up to the intense sun in the tropics.
5. Medicine: Most people will remember any important medication but it is important to remember Pain killers, Pepto Bismal and other everyday hygene products.
Also be sure to carry any medication in the original pack and the prescription as well.
Having a more enjoyable vacation to the tropics can be determined by the items that you bring. If you forget an item that is important to your trip it can cause you to have less of a good time. If the item is critical to your health then it can be a threatening situation.
Make a list several weeks before hand of the items that you will need to bring with you. This way you will be able to remember all the little things that you might need while away. |
