| Having to decide what to pack your gear when going to a place where you have never been before. Before packing to go on holidays there are some items that you don't want to leave behind.
1. Appropriate ID: With heightened security since 9/11 it is important to use a passport and photo ID. You have to have proper ID for your children traveling with you.
2. Contraceptives: Well... If there is a chance you will be getting down and dirty on your trip you really should bring condoms.
3. Appropriate Clothing: Yes the tropics are warm but if a rain squal sweeps in it can get rather brisk, suprisingly quick It is a good idea to bring proper footware, pants and a jacket.
I find it is much easier to bring as little as possible, You just don't know when you will need to carry your bags for a long distance. A few complete complete outfits will work for all social occasions.
4. Sun Block: SPF 30 at the minimum. Anything lessor and you stand to get a sun burn. Good sunblock should also contain either zinc oxide or titanium oxide.
Before going on your trip it is a smart idea to spend some time in a tanning studio. It is a good idea to create a good base to block the intense sun in the tropics.
5. Health products: Be sure to remember any prescribed medicine but it may be wise to also bring things like Aspirin, Pepto Bismal and other pharmacy items.
Be sure to have any medicine in the original container and bring the prescription with you too.
Having a more enjoyable vacation to the tropics can be determined by the items that you bring. If you forget an item that is important to your trip it can cause you to have less of a good time. If the item is critical to your health then it can be a threatening situation.
Make a list several weeks before hand of the items that you will need to bring with you. This way you will be able to remember all the little things that you might need while away. |
